Why custom domains

Everything you get with
your own domain

A custom domain transforms disposable email from a privacy trick into a professional tool.

🔒

Complete Privacy

No one can tell you're using a disposable email service. Your domain, your identity — completely hidden from senders.

🏢

Look Professional

Use @yourcompany.com instead of a generic domain. Perfect for testing, SaaS signups, and protecting your real inbox.

5-Minute Setup

Add your domain, set two DNS records. No software to install, no server to manage. You're live instantly.

♾️

Unlimited Addresses

Create any address on the fly — support@, dev@, noreply@, anything@yourdomain.com. All land in your dashboard.

🛡️

Spam Protection

Expose your custom address to risky services. If it gets spammed, deactivate it. Your real email stays untouched.

🔑

You Own It

Your domain, your rules. No lock-in. Switch services anytime — the domain follows you, not the other way around.

Add the MX record first: Type = MX, Name = @, Priority = 10.

5

Click Save — changes go live in under 5 minutes on Cloudflare.

To add DNS records in GoDaddy:

1

Go to dcc.godaddy.com → My Products → DNS.

2

Click Add New Record.

3

Select Type = MX, set Host = @, Points to = (value from dashboard), Priority = 10.

4

Save, then add another record for TXT/SPF.

5

GoDaddy propagates in 15–30 minutes typically.

To add DNS records in Namecheap:

1

Log in to namecheap.com → Domain List → Manage.

2

Go to Advanced DNS tab.

3

Click Add New Record, choose MX Record.

4

Set Host = @, Mail Server = (value), Priority = 10. Save.

5

Repeat for TXT record with SPF value.

Add these two records to your domain's DNS. Exact values are shown in your dashboard after adding the domain.

MX @ → mail.mailwave.dev   Priority: 10
TXT @ → "v=spf1 include:mailwave.dev ~all"

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need technical skills to set up a custom domain?
No. If you can log into your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap…) and add a DNS record, you're all set. The entire process takes about 5 minutes. We show you exactly what values to enter.
How long does DNS propagation take?
DNS changes typically propagate within 5–30 minutes. On Cloudflare it's often under 5 minutes. In rare cases it can take up to 48 hours. Once active, email delivery is instant.
Can I use multiple custom domains?
Yes. The number of custom domains you can add depends on your plan. Check the plans page for the exact limit per tier.
What happens to emails if my subscription expires?
Your domain remains registered in the system. New email delivery pauses until you renew or upgrade. Previous emails in your inbox remain accessible.
Is email received on my custom domain private?
Yes. Emails are processed through our infrastructure but are never read, stored long-term, or shared. Your custom domain further masks which service you use, adding a layer of separation between your public-facing address and your real identity.
Can I receive emails from anyone on my custom domain?
Yes. Any email sent to any address @yourdomain.com is delivered to your Mail Wave inbox as long as the domain is active and the two DNS records are correctly configured.
Do I need to configure SMTP to send email?
No. Mail Wave is a receive-only service. You receive emails — you don't need to configure any sending (SMTP) settings.
